Coolmine park on Saturday was the setting for the greatest match to be played by this incredible Verona side. A victory would guarantee a league success for the fourth time running. The occasion clearly effected the players as they squandered possession all too easily and went 2-0 down in a nervy opening. The initial shock didn't last long as Verona set about their task and took control of proceedings when David Ubor burst through the middle to lay a perfect ball to man of the match Jeremiah Bamgbose who beat 3 players before driving the ball into the bottom corner and instantly changing the game. Within minutes Eric Yoro had equalised after finishing a deflected shot sending the Verona supporters into screams of joy. Having the upper hand and a clear momentum, Eric struck again giving Verona a deserved lead when placing under the keeper to secure a 3-2 advantage at half time. As the second period began the champions elect were entirely focused and ready bring the title home to Verona. A clear spell of possession was rewarded when Jeremiah latched onto another through ball from David to smash a powerful drive into the top corner, making the score 4-2 in our favour. Captian Keith Obaseki and Edvardas Rimkus defended with confidence, helped with some vital blocks from Daniel Hardy to maintain the important lead. Our destiny was secured with the sound of the final whistle with scenes of joy rarely seen before. The result itself typified our great team as our passion and spirit will always give us a chance. Thank you to all my boys for entertaining us all season as parents and myself alike are proud of each and every one of you. For the last time this season.... Well done boys!..... Champions 2015.
