Verona Fc welcomed an early Christmas visitor but on this occasion the great John Giles arrived to steal Santa's thunder. We witnessed a night of witty stories and memories from one of Ireland's greatest ever players. Following his short video intro we heard some tales that would make your blood curdle and sides split in equal measures. John stayed behind to share a drink and a tale or two with the lucky Verona audience. He looked comfortable amongst football loving people and where better a place to be than Verona's recently refurbished clubhouse. Over the years our famous club has been graced with the presence of some fantastic players but none in the calibre of the great man himself. We're grateful to him for choosing Verona as a platform to share his life so thank you to John himself and his good friend Darren Costello for a great interview. A special mention to our Chairman Derek Clarke and Vice President Stephen Kinch for setting up a super evening and our President Marie Dooley for such fantastic promotional work. It was a priviage to be a part of such a great occasion and for anyone lucky enough to attend it won't be forgotten in a hurry.
